Poetry: Overcoming challenges

Do you ever feel as if the world is looking down on you,
that your life is empty, well if you do..
Lift up your head and breathe new air
You're as good as anybody, no matter where

Are you depressed, ran out on your luck
Have you tried to escape and found you're stuck
Do you feel you haven't got a single friend
Have you little or no money to spend
Are you pockets empty, your cabinets bare
Are you disgusted, filled with despair
Lift up your head and breathe new air
You're as good as anybody, anywhere

Keep your head and your hopes held up high
Try to laugh when you want to cry
Look thru the dark, til you see the light
If you can do it, you've won the fight
Know in your heart that this is just a trial
And you can beat it, if you can smile
