Regardless of how passionate you may have been as a newlywed, all relationships inevitably fall into a rut at some point. It may last for a few weeks, a few months or even a few years, but during that time you begin longing for the romance and fun of your dating years.
Think you'll never be able to relive that? Think again. Dating your spouse is just as fun and passion filled as it was before, if not more so.
Men, want to take your wife on a date? Send her some flowers during her workday morning. Include with it a note that you have a surprise for her and she shouldn't make any plans for the evening. The bouquet will be reminiscent of your dating years and the hint at a surprise to come later will have her in suspense all day. Bonus points here if you can recreate that first bouquet you sent to her.
When she gets into her car, she should find a note directing her of where to go next. Ideally you would want to send her home to change, where you should cleverly have laid out the perfect outfit to suit your plans. Note what time you will be picking her up so she can plan accordingly. While she's preparing, have your car detailed the scent will take her back to those first few dates when you stood on ceremony and went to all lengths to impress.
Be on time to pick her up, even a few minutes early to increase her jitters. Stand at the door with a single red rose to present to her, then escort her to your car. Open the door for her and help her get situated. Drive around for a little while to throw her off, then pull up to a nice restaurant, where your reservation has already been made. Order her favorite bottle of wine once you're at the table.
This is your opportunity to flirt with her as you used to. Catch her gaze and stare into her eyes suggestively, brush her wrist with your fingers, wink and smile lovingly at her. Engage in conversation that has nothing to do with money, work or your day-to-day life. Ask her questions as though you were getting to know her all over again.
After a romantic meal, spend the evening doing things the two of your used to do. Walk to a corner caf for a coffee, attend a play or visit an art gallery, kiss under the moonlight. Bonus points if you recreate that first date completely.
Whatever you do, the point is to get out of routine and do new things together, or things you haven't done for a while. With the hypnotic elixir of nostalgia and intimate details buzzing through her blood, it won't be hard at all to rekindle the flame once you return home. She may even be inspired to return the favor and plan a date the next time around.
