I ain't got no pitney for Britney. Seriously, I do feel sympathy for the troubled young woman. She was a talented child who had every advantage to succeed in life. She was surrounded by loving parents, singing and dancing tutors, private teachers, and talent enough to achieve superstardom while still a teenager.

Unfortunately, all of that pampering and glory didn't give her the practical experience and judgement of a typical teenager. With plenty of money and fan admiration, she chose to live life in the proverbial teenage fast lane. Fast cars, rich brat friends and nightly clubbing around Hollywood hangouts. At first, she loved the attention she got from the paparazzi, who followed her every move and helped boost her career by keeping her name and image on the front pages.

Then, she fell for the romantic routine of one of her back-up dancers, Kevin Federline. She ignored the well-known facts of his sleep-around history, including already being the father of two out-of-wedlock kids. Although Britney seemed to want to settle down to domesticity and gave birth to two children, the predictably doomed marriage slipped out of her control. Her emotional state deteriorated as she finally realized her mistake and kicked Kevin out of her life.

Since then, she has gone from one crisis to another, including accusations of child neglect and frequent bizarre public behavior. These problems kept her in the public spotlight, but instead of giving her the admiration she once had, they eventually made her a pitiful laughingstock in the entertainment industry.

Then, as Britney and her ex-husband were battling over money and custody of the children, she was chosen to perform the opening number at the MTV awards. It was a disaster, and her clumsy movements, weight gain and bad lip-syncing were blazing evidence that Britney, age the ripe old age of 25, may have destroyed her career.

Most people, despite joining in on the ridicule and bad jokes about Britney's dilemma, hope she will work her way out of her current condition and get on with a productive, happy life.
