Splintered Fragments
Glass shattered as it hit the tile floor,
Fell from her hand like the tears in her eyes,
The love of her life, just walked out the door.
She had no idea, not even a clue,
That her husband of ten years,
Would say they are through.
She stood for a moment filled with despair.
There was no where to run,
Life wasn't fair.
Broom in hand she cleaned up the glass.
Sharp splintered fragments,
Like love that can't last
Their love was so fragile, not handled with care.
Now two hearts are broken
Beyond all repair.
Life will be different, lonely no doubt
He has new start
And he's left her out.
With broken heart she wipes away tears
Along with the memories
She had kept all these years
She wraps up the glass so no-one gets cut
Then wraps her self up from inside
To keep her heart shut.
