And Another Thing...
"Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying for."
~Will Rogers
I think these days we are getting more government then we can afford.
As the headline reads: Immediate Threat to Marriage in America
Writes, Maurine Proctor for familyleader.net
This article is very informative and motivational. She points out: Traditional marriage between a man and a woman, upheld by 57% to 43% margin and placed in the Oregon Constitution in 2004, is about to be nullified by Oregon's ultra-liberal governor and Democrat-controlled legislature.
To my way of thinking, it's too bad our government, even the local sector, has little or no regard for the voice of the people. Too many laws are being made and or changed to suit the minority rather then the majority. How did this happen?
I have to ask,"Have we lost our minds or just or guts?"
Maurine also contributes, on May 9th this year, the governor of Oregon signed House Bill 2007, which provides all the benefits of marriage in Oregon law to men and women who wish to live in a homosexual or lesbian relationship. On the same day, the governor signed Senate Bill 2 which provides special rights, privileges and protections to homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals and those who have gender identity issues. This impacts hiring, the workplace, and education, by the threat of legal action.
Maurine makes some very valid points. In fact, I find myself questioning a lot of things we hear or better yet, don't hear from our media. What is happening to America and are we swallowing all the propaganda we are being fed?
Again,I have to ask,"Have we lost our minds or just our guts?"
Is there anyone we truly hold accountable?
On this issue Oregonians only have until September 25 to submit 57,179 valid signatures to Oregon's Secretary of State to place this bill on the November 2008 General Election ballot so the citizens can vote. ( We the People still have to fight to be heard ). As of September 13, we are 20,000 signatures short.
I encourage you to get involved or there will no longer be,'We the People'.
"Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."
~Will Rogers
