Poetry: Humorous

HAVE A GOOD WEAK END

We need a better work week,
That by Friday aft,
Doesn't find us weak,
From our head to our very weak end.

Comes our Monday,
With sluggish grays,
And groans of the mundane,
It's enough to make our knees bend.

Then there comes Tuesday,
Not as bad as the first,
But still Singing the Blues day,
It's still too far to get a Friday send.

Ah, then Wednesday arrives,
And it's the hump in the hill,
And mostly we survive,
For Thursday then makes Friday a friend.

But that's too long,
A wait for singing,
Our short but brief weekend song,
Sing the first verse, we've reached the end.

So what we need is a shorter work week,
Where we come to work on Wednesday,
Start the weekend on Thursday for a peek,
Spending the rest, getting our lives on the mend.
