Summer: A hot wind, rustling the leaves on the trees. The sun so bright that you have to put your hand over your eyes to shade them. Beads of sweat popping out on your forehead and over your upper lip. It's so hot you can hardly catch your breath.
It's too hot to run, so you stroll lazily along the hot, dusty roadway. You look at the cows in the pasture that turns to look at you as you pass. They're under the trees, trying to keep cool. There are three standing in the small pond that is on the other side of the tree. So hot, you can hardly wait to reach the creek, to dip your feet in and cool them off. Maybe you can find a shady place to take a nap, before time to go back to the house. It's so hot there that you can't rest. There's no fan or air conditioning like at the diner in the little town where you live. The flies buzz around your head and you swat at them. Pesky insects!

Wait! It's clouding up! I do believe we're going to get some rain. I whoop and holler, rain, rain, as I feel a few drops begin to fall on me and in the dust in the road. Pretty soon the drops become heavier and they feel so good on my hot skin. I whirl around and around as the rain becomes heavier. It feels great.!
I don't mind getting wet, it feels wonderful. I don't have to go to the creek now, so I turn to go back to the house. I walk slowly, letting the rain soak and cool me off. There's nothing like a summer shower to cool things off for awhile.
Summer is also the time that you enjoy watching the miracle of things growing in the gardens, The flowers blooming, the children playing.
you can lay in the fields and watch the clouds roll across the sky or see if you can find animals in the clouds. You can look at the stars at night and the moon that lights our way. There's so much to do in summer that makes us all so happy.God is so good to provide us with all the seasons in the year. It gives us a time for everything. Time to grow and time to rest. But summer is the best time of all.
