What can I say about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, well not much except that its by far the best book in the whole series! When I first started reading Harry Potter I never truly understood that it would had to come to an end some day, I grew accustom of waiting for a new book to come out ever two years, until I finished reading Half-blood Prince in 2005, Harry said something in the last chapter that made me feel like someone had just poured a bucket of cold water on me, he said something along the lines of "I wont come back even if it does reopen" referring to Hogwarts, and that's when it finally hit me that the series was about to end.
I waited patiently for July 2007 to arrive, I got the book the first day it had been released, I read three fourths of it in a day but I decided to let it stay unfinished for a about 2 days, this was after all Harry's last adventure and I didn't see the point in rushing to the end. But later that week I finished it, feeling a bit gloomy but peaceful none the less.
In my opinion the book was excellent the only thing that I think could have gone a little better was the epilogue since in my opinion it lacked some detail about some characters such as Luna (who happens to be one of my favorites) but other than that it was nothing short of a master piece. I remember telling my friends after reading "The Battle of Hogwarts" that I felt as if had just seen the world's greatest action scene.
The climax was excellent and very unexpected, a lot of people were worried about who was going to die in the book, and all though I feel terrible for the losses of Snape, Lupin, Tonks, Fred, Dobby and Hedwig, I think this book was more interesting and sets it self apart from the others not for "who dies" but mainly for "what is discovered".
Some people say that seven is a magic number and all though I don't consider my self to be a superstitious person, I must honestly say that this book as well as the previous ones is a "magical" piece of literature. I enjoyed reading Deathly Hallows and I highly recommend it. It is the conclusion of a series and the close of an era, so what is my review on the book? Well I can only answer that using three little words: "All was well".
