bush and scream for withdrawal, however they are doing that because election time is near and they want votes. What many Americans do not realize is that even if we withdraw, the US involvement in Iraq is not going to end overnight. Withdrawing is an easy way out of a problem, it is not a long term solution to this dilemma.
So instead, as Bush stated, every American, Democrat or Republican or Independent must use their brains. We are already in Iraq and there is no way we can simply withdraw. So instead, we must think of how we can best capitalize on the present situation for the benefit of America at home and in the international community.
Whether you want it or not, the Middle East is vital for American interests and for the security of the western world. Countering the influence and recruitment of Terrorist groups and of the Iranian and Syrian governments are fundamentally critical to the World Security and peace. So we are offered a chance here to defeat the terrorists at their own home base.
So The question is, with the time that is given to us, what will our choice be? Will we stand as a nation and defend our honor, pride, freedom and future or do we whimper and withdraw like a coward, afraid to face tomorrow? afraid to face the future? We are engaged in a confrontation, the confrontation of ideologies, the confrontation of Islamic Radicalism versus Western ideals of freedom. The real question is, will we win?
