The growing movement to suppress Christianity

by John S Willard Jr

Created on: September 15, 2007

If anyone has not niticed, there is definitely a growing movement to suppress Christianity AND the name of Jesus in particular. May I take a moment a bring to your attention what Jesus said in the Bible regarding this matter? Several times in the Book of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts and Revelation, Jesus said the following:
Mat 10:22 And ye shall be hated ofa men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Luk 21:12 But before allthese, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

Luk 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

Joh 15:21 But all these thingswill they do unto you for my name's sake, because
they know not him that sent me.

Act 9:16 For I will show him how great things he mustsuffer for my name's sake.

Rev 2:3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's hast labored, and hast not fainted.

The world, just does not want to acknowledge the fact that there is one and ONLY one true living God that is Lord of Lord's and King of King's. that is because the world is under the control of Satan, for it is said in the Bible, "Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience."

Nothing has changed down through millinia; Satan is still at work and it will only worsen as time draws to a close.

Recently in our small town, an issue arose that is becoming more prevalent in America today. That issue is the legality of public prayer. To be more exact, this issue was over the public prayer at the start of our county commissioner's meetings. The American Civil Liberties Union sent a letter to our commissioners at the end of one of their monthly meetings inquiring into the content of prayers conducted at their regular meetings. All of this was initiated by a citizen of the county that passed out some pamphlets to commissioners and said it was unconstitutional to impose religious beliefs of one group onto another. The ALCU states in their letter, "we are writing to make inquiries and to provide guidance in order to ensure that the practices of the Board of County Commissioners are not violating the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution."

Some of our esteemed commissioners acknowledged that it might mean removing direct references to Jesus
