What is domestic violence? What is healthy relationship?
I wonder if there is such a couple who agrees with everything. That will be weird to me. I believe that we are individuals with different personalities and opinions. It seems impossible for me to find someone who can agree with me about everything. So it is okay to disagree. If you and your partner disagree very often and debate, it doesn't mean that you have a bad relationship. It is just that you have disagreements. So what is healthy relationship?
Domestic violence is about power and control. When one tries to have control over your emotions and behaviors, that becomes domestic violence. So if you and your partner have disagreements but can respect about difference in your opinion, it seems like you have healthy relationship. When your partner gets so upset with your opinion and starts making judgment and escalates to manipulate or/and be disrespectful, then that is definitely a red flag.
In my personal life, I have so many disagreements with my boyfriend. We enjoy having debates. Our conversations can be heated sometimes, but can always respect by end of it. There is no "you are stupid..you are so wrong." It is more like "that is okay you have a different view. But this is my opinion...." That makes a huge difference in the relationship.
