Matching colors and textures in room design

Goddess
The Bedroom of your Dreams

You have just managed to find your dream home, and you now want to create your dream bedroom. First you have to decide the style that you want, well you want cool sophistication, light and airy and yet very romantic. So why not create the Goddess effect, it has all those things and so much more.

Bring the romance of the Greek age into your room with lots of flowing fabrics, giving the room a light surreal look. It will be your own little get away where you can relax and dream.

To create this look firstly paint your walls a cool cream colour, you can re-invent your furniture with some careful thought and planning, try painting your old furniture a nice eggshell colour, it saves money and yet brings everything back to life in a new vibrant way. Choose one wall as your centre piece and splash some bronze paint over it, this will give an aged look that will give the illusion of stepping back to the Greek age.

To decorate the wall why not try some wallpaper art, get yourself some MDF cut to the size you want your art to be. Then get some wallpaper that you really love the design of use some craft mount and tape, attach it to the MDF and you have created your very own exclusive piece of art that looks very effective and quite stunning.

Get some light fabric, which you will suspend by taught wire, this would create some really great room dividers and add to the romantic theme. For decoration, use some old material, old bed sheets is a good idea, make it into cushion covers and sew the material into Grecian swags, let your mind run riot in your quest for the ultimate room, keep your curtains to the same theme as the cushions.

You could add a light that has a fan attached to keep you cool in those long summer nights.Add a couple of nice white rugs, lots of green plants to give the feeling of tranquillity, make sure that your plants are stood in Greek urn planters that you could spray gold to give the look of opulence. You have created a really nice bedroom for minimum finance and yet everyone will think it cost a fortune and be so envious.
