President George W. Bush, the most powerful man in the World, as of now. One stroke of his pen wields the power to change many a fortunes, many a lives. President George W. Bush, the lame duck Head of the most Powerful(?) nation in the whole wide world.
Sitting at the helm of the White House for 8 years is no mean feat. It takes guts, courage, passion and will-power to do what he has done in the last 7 years (and will do still).
But as with every job, Presidency also comes with an expiry date. So eventually, in November 2008, Bush will pave way for a new President. If everything goes as per schedule, America will see either the first ever Woman President or the first ever Black President. Whatever the case maybe, it certainly won't see any member of the Bush family take charge of the country soon.
So the question is, what will George W. Bush do when he leaves the Oval office in 2008?
Before we talk about that, let us understand one thing. From George Washington to George Bush, America has come a long long way from 1789 to 2007, but it still has a long way to go. This was recently highlighted by a Ms. Teen USA 2007 contestant from South Carolina who, on being asked as to why a fifth of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map, so rightly and intellectually pointed out that:
"I personally believe that US Americans are unable to do so, because, is that some people out there, in our nation, don't have maps, and I believe that our education, such as South Africa, and the Iraq, everywhere like, such as, and I believe that they should, our education over here, in the US should help the US, or um should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future, for our children."
Splendid answer indeed! Brought tears of pride and joy in my eyes. So what's that got to do with Bush retirement? A lot! Bush has done so much for the world physical map, changing borders, wiping countries et all. So after he retires, he will have a couple of immediate tasks at hand already. Those tasks would be:
a) Insure all Americans have Maps.
b) Make Sure all Americans know where America is on the map.
Believe me, it is not as easy as it sounds. Firstly, it will be difficult to explain to Americans that the 'WORLD' consists of countries other than America. Bush has to use all his expertise to get Americans to believe that.
And even if they do believe that, how will their super sensitive minds be able to accept this shocking disclosure that there are still some nations out there that have NEVER been bombed by the United States of America? Tough, very tough indeed.
It will take all the expertise, leadership skills and eloquence for ex-President George W Bush to educate fellow Americans.
Talking about eloquence, how can we forget about the exceptional and outstanding oratorical skills of Bush. It will certainly be worthwhile and profitable, not to mention useful and educative, for Mr. George Bush to publish a book of his superb and witty one-liners (sometimes complete sentences), also known as "Bushisms"!
So there you go, when President George W. Bush leaves presidency in 2008, his plate would be full and he will certainly have a LOT to do!
