"Thought and character are one and as character can only manifest and discover itself through environment and circumstances, the outer conditions of a person's life will always be found to be harmoniously related to his inner state. This does not mean that those circumstances are so intimately connected with some vital thought element within that, for the time being, they are indispensable to his development." (James Allen As A Man Thinketh).
Allen insists upon the power of the individual to form his own character and create his own happiness. Therefore it becomes clear that we can only eradicate problems and obstacles in our daily lives with a right attitude. The right attitude causes one to look at problems and obstacles differently.
I believe we are what we think. We choose on a daily basis what lies before us. Is there a problem or a challenge? Is there an obstacle or an opportunity? Is the glass half empty or is it half full? It is a matter of perspective which is generally determined by what we think. Thinking is something we do everyday all day long. Success and failure is usually preceded by what we think.
Everyday we recieve our allotment of twenty-four hours. Everybody recieves their own twenty-four hours. What we do with our allotment of this precious commodity called time has a tendency to turn us into a genius or a fool. We can become rich or poor or we can become happy or sad totally based upon how we use our time. A man who spends all his time thinking negative thoughts usually ends up being negative and bitter. But a man who develops the habit of thinking he can overcome any difficulty or any problem usually is happy and successful.
Eradicating problems and obstacles in your daily life becomes easy when you remember that there are only opportunities never problems. There are no failures only people who failed to think about the endless possibilities that are in every situation. The King James version of the bible says in Proverbs 23:7 "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he". You can either choose to see problems or you can choose to see opportunites to excel-the choice is yours.
Therefore, to eliminate or eradicate problems in our daily life we need to do the following three things. We need to take time to think. It is when we can clearly identify the problem that we can begin to solve the ptoblem. We need to decide upon a course of action we will take to act upon the problem. And lastly we need to monitor the results of our action so that we can know when the problem is solved or if our action is effective.
