The rights of gays in the US military

God does not fight our wars. We fight them. We fight them, presumably, to maintain a life that is free from totalitarianism, fascism and communism. Free from those many constraints that prohibit our liberty and subject us to endless suffering. We fight, or better, we should fight, for all these things.

If homosexuality is dishonorable, is it yet honorable to die to preserve a lifestyle that is chosen upon our blood?

For who shall suffer more under tyranny? If history is any gauge it is the Jews, the homosexuals, the African-Americans. If history is any gauge, their suffering will be the greatest, their sacrifice, the most. Wouldn't they then have the greatest reason to succeed? Wouldn't they, the once, oft and still persecuted have the most to lose?

If they are denied the ability to fight, we betray every good reason to fight in any war - Freedom. For a nation that fights for a cause it does not believe in will not survive to chose and persecute its condemned.

And if we are not fighting for them, who are we fighting for? Can we chose after our death to whom our blood can be ascribed? Do we not fight and die for country? Are we not constantly told that we must stand united?

It is our choice: if we cannot die together, we shall never live together.
