If you do not believe there is a spiritual warfare going on, that there is a battle for your soul, then none of this matters. Take a look at what is said in the Bible about things, and specifically about this subject matter. If it is that important for YHWH to have one of the prophets write a warning, then you had better believe that it does matter, and we should pay heed to the warning:

>Jeremiah 10:2-4 Hear the word that the Lord speaks to you, O Israel! :2 Do not act >like th other nations, who try to read their future in the stars. Do not be afraid >of their predictions, even though other nations are terrified by them. :3 Their >ways are futile and foolish. They CUT DOWN A TREE, and a craftsman carves an idol. >:4 They DECORATE it with gold and silver and then fasten it securely with hammer and >nails so it won't fall over.

We now know that this "tradition" was happening at least in the days of Jeremiah. And we know that it was, "not pleasing to the Father," because He made a point of speaking of it and having it transcribed into the Word that it might be heard by generations to come; by you and I. Do you hear what the "Spirit is saying?"

Some of the historical background of this "tradition" which we have so blindly accepted tells us that the tree, like other "stuff" is Nimrod stuff. In the 8th century a guy named Boniface (on a mission to convert the pagans) apparently ran across the Druid peoples who used an oak tree that they brought into their homes as part of the "solstice" celebrations. They would decorate it with gold balls (sound familiar?). The very word "Dru-id" means "oak-wise" because oak trees were sacred to them. Christmas trees have their roots in paganism and practices that no man calling himself a "christian" should ever participate in. This tradition stems back to the days of Babylon; Babylon is referenced many times as an abhorrence to the L-rd, as an example of what He doesn't want us to do.

We are told that Boniface convinced some of the Druids to use an evergreen tree in place of the oak, and we are told that he used the tree to teach them of eternal life (I can't figure that out unless it is because evergreen trees are eternal in the sense they never shed their leaves). We are also told that he never taught that the tree or the wreath were detestable and that the practice should cease. Now why is that? Was it not the beginning of a "compromise," a "white washing and watering down," of the truth? That, my friends, is the beginning of
