The people that listen to music are walking advertisement. When they sing out loud it's as though they are advertising that song. Some may ask "What song is that?" and go home and check out that song. If someone had to get permission to quote song lyrics every time they were about to sing a line of a song or even type a line of a song, I'm sure many people would not sing as much songs. Writers are helping artist by quoting songs lyrics. If a lyric seems interesting, a person might wish to look up the lyrics and listen to the song.

Even if we do say something negative about what is being said, everyone has the freedom of speech. And speaking what is on our mind is what writers and artist both do. Without the freedom of speech, there would not be much to write or sing about.

A writer might quote a lyrics with a positive statement to say about it. Even in school, would a student have to ask the music industry to write about a favorite song? It might cause problems and waste a lot of time. So you should give writers the freedom of that.

Just as song writers may get their lyrics by the things that are going on in the world, a writer should write about what they hear how they feel about it.
