My parents weren't much for going to church, but they always made sure we got there. They let us try different churches to see what was right for us. They didn't try to sway us one way or the other, and for that, I have the utmost respect for both of them.
Both of my parents believed in God, they just didn't like churches. We grew up around gospel music. My sister and I sang it in harmony with my dad. They never once told us, or even implicated that God was not real.
I'll never understand why a person would deny the existence of God. What does this world hold, that you would want to worship, or believe in, Drugs, Booze, Gambling, Cults that kill everyone including innocent children. Look at the sexual immorality amongst our young people. They see it out of the adults so why not? That is of the devil, not God.
Have you ever noticed that when you take the D off of devil, all you have is evil. Now ask yourself what all D stands for. Death, Demons, Disasters, Danger, Destruction. Did you ever think about it? And there are many more. The devil is evil and he stands for all of those words, and many more.
God can do no evil, everything satan does is evil. God is just as right as satan is wrong. No good can come from satan worship. He's the father of all lies, his destiny is in the lake of fire with all that choose to follow him, and there will be many.
People that promise you a gold mine, will then give you the shaft. I know that a lot of people don't believe, because they feel like God has let them down, they don't understand how bad things happen to good people, well, look around, everything, like 9/11 was done by human terrorists.
God gave to us everything we needed, and what have we ever given to Him but shattered dreams, and blame for our failures. God has never once let us down. Everything bad that has happened has been by the hands of man.
When a parent tells his/her child that God is not real, you're condemning their soul to the same lake of fire that you will spend eternity in. Is that what you want to see in your torment? your own children burning in an eternal fire because of your lack of faith.
Blame God all you want to, but your hate , and your life in darkness is what has caused this world to be a hell on earth. Take your own responsibility for your actions. But why teach your children to hate, and to turn out to be something you may not like. They will probably be just like you.
It's not too late. You have till you take your last breathe to make it right with God. After that comes the eternal torment for you and all you have taken down with you.
Teach them about all of it, God's love, God's forgiveness, positive beliefs, and if you have to, negative beliefs, but give them the right to make their own choice in the long run. I'm thankful that my parents gave us these choices. and I serve a living God that takes care of me.
