Although it took several years for Harry Potter to understand Snape, he should now realize Snape was a true friend. He risked everything to help out the side of good. Snape was angry at Harry's father for taking the love of his life, and for year's of tormenting him as children. He found it hard to decipher between the two Potter's. Harry seemed so much like him, and certainly looked the part. Although Snape had seemed to resent Harry for no reason, he had reason in his own mind.
Snape was a courageous man, which Harry found out a little too late. He stood up to the Dark Lord for the greater good, and was cunning in doing so. He didn't have an easy life, but he chose to do the right thing. He was a broken man, ridden with guilt, thinking he ended up aiding to the death of the woman he loved for years.
Snape fooled us all! He may have been greasy, but he was brave, smart, and loyal.
