When making lodging arrangements for our parents to accommodate them for our destination wedding, we believed we were very thorough. We visited the area several times, requested recommendations from our wedding planner and searched out our own locations as well.
We knew we wanted luxurious accommodations in the historic district, in keeping with the theme of the wedding weekend. One of the companies in particular we contacted allowed us to tour the property on one of our weekend getaways. We were absolutely enthralled with the facilities, and the price was very reasonable, considering. We were quick to book this location for his mom, as she had never really been "taken care of".
In keeping with the spirit of this find, we were quick to contact the company again regarding another property they had available in the same general area. There was only one bathroom for 5 people, which also boasted plumbing problems. My father had to go to an all night store at 4:00 am, because the toilet was backed up and there was no plunger in the unit.
The kitchen area was so small you could reach from one side to the other by simply stretching your arms. The stove was only a two-burner style, and appeared to be a 1970's model, along with the refrigerator; nothing like the very modern appliances in the other unit we had rented. The washer and dryer were virtually impossible to use. They were in a space just wide enough for them to fit, and the dryer door would not fully open. When you opened the dryer door, it opened toward you, and you had to lean over it to remove any
