Chicken or beef? That is the question that makes calamity of so long life. Well here is the rub as I see it; they are both good. Although, being forced to choose one, it would be beef. The chicken is much more versatile as far as recipes go, the beef is best on its own. I will let you in on some yummy uses for both.

The best way to eat beef ramen is with cheese. Cook the noodles but do not add the seasoning packet. Once the noodles are done to your liking, drain the water leaving just enough to dissolve the seasoning. Add the seasoning and mix. Add the cheese, I usually use a slice or two of American but the jarred cheddar or even alfredo are awesome. Don't use regular cheddar as it will not melt smoothly. I will sometimes add hot sauce and left-over grilled hamburger or steak. Now that's a meal. I learned that trick in the Army in Korea. I ALWAYS brought ramen to the field. I would get the M.R.E with the dehydrated beef patty. It had a pouch of processed cheese product which completed the dish.

Chicken ramen seasoning packets are a must have in my kitchen. My spicy rice is one of my kids favorite things. Start with two cups instant rice and two cups hot water. Dissolve the chicken seasoning packet in the water and mix with the rice in a covered, microwave-safe dish. I like to add a touch of blackening spice to give it a little kick. You will need to refer to the cooking instructions for your brand of instant rice for the time; it should be around eight minutes in the nuker. When it comes out of the microwave, mix in enough margarine or butter to make it moist and sticky. You got yourself a great side dish. Throw in a can of chicken breast and some mixed veggies before you cook it and it's a decent meal.

Beef or chicken. It is all a matter of taste and opinion. But somehow, you can be sure the answer is directly connected to the meaning of life itself.
