The value of people's opinions

People will have opinions and that is a fact of life. That means there will be plenty of differences, which in turn means, plenty of arguments. People even have arguments regarding things that are true, things that are facts. One person says that grass is green and there will be another who will insist that it is blue. Just for the sake of dispute! I once made an observation that all lions looked the same. And I instantly got a retort that they did not and that it was possible to tell one from another! I asked if it was possible to tell one cockroach from another and the prompt answer was - most definitely!

Freedom of speech. I really value that. Every one of us has the opportunity to voice our thoughts and opinions about any subject or topic. But it's really strange how many people allow their emotions and feelings to affect their opinions. Many people's opinions are colored by something called prejudice or bias. That is most unfortunate.

Therefore I don't much care for those opinions that reflect people's prejudices. They tend to look at things in one way. There's a sickening partiality about their opinion and judgment. By voicing their opinions in such way, people merely show how close-minded they are.

I admire only those opinions that are thoroughly objective. Opinions which are free from prejudice and bias. Opinions that are just and fair, and which do not discriminate.

And frankly, it is rather hard to find people who would support opinions such as those. Not surprising, since the majority of human beings simply prefer to follow untruth rather than the truth. Untruth is after all, so sweet and pleasing. It allows you to have your own opinion, no matter how absurd and unreasonable.
