The World Would be a Better Place Without ...

It is human nature to ponder the world, to ponder how significant changes could make for more harmony and peaceful living. The weight of the world is all ours to carry, to digest, to interpret, and to try to make sense of. There are so many organizations trying to make those positive and necessary changes which will contribute to making the world a little kinder, a little gentler, and a little more enlightened. There are many different aspects of this world we live in that could be tweaked or changed in order to make it a better place, and there are even more aspects that this world would be way better off without.

If religion was truly practiced the way it was intended, it would definitely make the world a better place. You would no longer see intolerance towards differences, hatred, and violence all in the name of someone's religion. Religion would be a personal spiritual journey that truly helped the subscriber become a charitable, compassionate, tolerant, and respectful human being. Unlike what we see today, people hiding behind a religion to spread fear, to spread hatred, to spread intolerance and all the hypocritical opposites of what their religions teach. There is just way too much divisiveness propelled through organized religion-definitely something the world could do without.

Violence, abuses, and crimes committed against the women and children of the world are yet another situation the world can do without. The sooner we enact strict legislation and policies in all countries that are allowing women to be treated as second class citizens, and where the children are used as pawns of war, and bargaining chips for personal welfare and survival, we will continue to see atrocities and horrific abuses continue, and even worsen.

Political corruption, where the wealthy control the government and the rich get richer, while the middle class and under-waged are consistently held back at those levels, is definitely something the world could do without. Policies are enacted to benefit those already with the power and control, and an unfair playing field is never a reality, damage our world-poverty is never a good thing.

There are many elements of our world today that definitely deserve our attention, and our concerns. There is a lot wrong, and a lot that needs to be fixed.
