Comparing private and public colleges and universities

If you are comparing private and public colleges and universities then I suggest you read about Ashland University which is a private university.

My alma mater is Ashland University and what a great university it is. When I first visited the campus the first thing I noticed was how neat and clean the campus was and also the great professors who took the time to give you personal attention. It made you feel like they had your best interest at heart and the truth be told, they did. It's a very great atmosphere for those that are serious about getting a great education. I always loved the motto "Accent on the individual". This was an environment that challenged you to be the best you could be. Not only did I get my undergraduate degree from Ashland but I also got my graduate degree from there as well.

Ashland is a religious university about average size and it is historically related to the Brethren Church with educational programs that emphasizes the importance of liberal arts and sciences. You are prepared to flourish in the working world after attending Ashland and taking classes in several important areas such as business, education, and theology. The curriculum at the university helps a student to establish balance in their lives by touching on all the key areas of life including, the mental, physical, social, career, culturally, and spiritual.

The year was 1878 when Ashland was founded as a private religious university which is located between Cleveland and Columbus in northeast Ohio. What is also great about Ashland is the fact that they offer a large number of majors to chose from. At last count it was more than 60 and some of those are the following: Hotel/restaurant management, radio/TV, international studies, toxicology/environmental science, and sports medicine.

The faculty at Ashland is more qualified than the average staff at a college or university because approximately 80% have doctorates or the highest degrees in their particular endeavor or field of study which is very encouraging.

The scenery at this campus is simply fantastic. Even though I graduated some time ago I still go down there occasionally and the upgrades that have taken place are simply outstanding. First of all the campus is roughly 120 acres and the beauty of the campus is second to none in the state of Ohio. It also features 44 modern buildings and the landscaping is immaculately prepared.

The overall experience at Ashland was truly one of enrichment and also one that allowed you to grow and mature thereby equipping you with the tools to meet the challenges in today's changing world.

Ashland University is located at 401 College Avenue Ashland Ohio 44805.
