Elective or not, bible courses should not be allowed in public schools. Why? Separation of church and state.

Has everyone forgotten this little promise? Or...let's say it IS offered. Will there be elective courses on the Koran? Buddhist meditation? Anton LaVey and his satanic works?

This country was, in part, founded on freedom of religion. Freedom FROM religion, for those who prefer it. I'm not against learning, by far. I just believe that if bible courses are to be offered, an equal course should be offered for each and every other religion out there. What freedom of religion is a child getting from the offering of just one branch, view, or belief?

Quite frankly, I believe that this country has nearly gone to hell in a hand basket where this issue is concerned. Pardon the phrase. When our very president and leader says that "God" tells him the answers to his most pressing decisions, I have to bite my tongue. Hell, I have to bite my FOOT to keep it from going somewhere it shouldn't. I would like to think that in this day and age, such a person might consult his own brain and those of others for rational decisions.

I'm not anti-religion. I'm just anti-forcing everyone into one mold.
