September is here again. Statistically speaking, this is the month that the majority of people looking for self-employment get serious about their search and join one opportunity or another. I can only hope that they get this information before losing their hard-earned cash to schuysters on the web.
The internet, like so many other advances in human evolution, has provided many wonderful opportunities for legitimate companies to prosper. Sadly, it has also allowed for the scam artist to ply their "trade" in record numbers.
Most folks who fall for the tricks, gimmicks, and highly emotional adcopy of fraudsters are fairly innocent. They find it hard to understand that people can, and sometimes do, lie because they themselves are so honest.
Now I've been fortunate enough to discover several legitimate, honest opportunities on the web such as ClickXChange.com, ROIRocketAffiliateTeam.com, and CommissionJunction.com. However I've also had to learn, the hard way, that not everyone out there is as wonderful.
One of my biggest pet peeves is the "Type at home" fraud trap. They offer you the chance to work at home filling out forms for pay...all for a measley $49.95! They tell you it's a simple matter of entering data they provide for pay. What they don't tell you is the data they provide is the exact same information obtainable through one of the programs mentioned previously in this article, or from a host of other equally honorable companies. And where do you place these data? Why, on Google AdSense ads and other pay-per-click advertising programs of course!
This is information they seem to fail to mention to you in the salesletter.
One popular program, ClickBank.com, has removed all such offers from their database! The refund levels were simply through the roof! Once the unwitting consumer makes their purchase, they're told to join the programs mentioned above and advertise the campaigns.
All that for only $49? Golly! What a bargain!
What bothers me most about these particular fraudsters is not so much that they're out there taking people's money, which is bad enough, but they're ripping out tiny little pieces of people's hearts and their belief in Capitalism and the American Dream itself!
For this alone, they should be shot, hanged, or otherwise executed.
But not to worry dear readers; While these fools think themselves invincible and/or untouchable, they're not.
Even those overseas can and will be disputed with your bank, as long as you file a dispute as soon as you're able. Some disputes might require a written statement, but it's worth the time it takes. Once you talk to your local bank, if those businesses can't PROVE that they've provided what you paid for, VISA/MasterCard will not only take your money back from them for a refund, they'll slap them with a nasty little fine called a "Chargeback Fee." There are even situations where said "merchant" will end up on what's called the "Terminated Merchant File", or TMF for short. At that point, these individuals, and ANY business they're associated with, can no longer accept credit cards.
Could you just imagine how costly that would be if they can't even keep a job just because it would be too much of a liability for their employers?
That's what they get for being frauds though.
I myself have fallen for these ploys before and made it out with my self-esteem, my faith in Capitalism, and my money intact. You can too!
Just remember to stand up to these fools who would do you financial harm. Just because their "Customer Service" department says there's no refund, it's by no means the last word on the matter if you stand up for yourself.
