How to Cope With Stress by Developing a Calm Mind
The consequences of stress can be either positive or negative. When you give that great presentation for work at the last minute, or become more intense with your studying in response to an imminent exam at school, stress is the inspiration behind your development. If it wasn't for stress, you might not achieve anything. However serious physical and psychological problems are the consequence of chronic stress which lasts a long time with no respite or relaxation
A calm mind is the result of exerting tolerance and self-discipline. Instead of fussing fuming, grieving and worrying, we remain unwavering, tranquil and balanced.
We gain balance with the acceptance of the fact that we are the result of our own thoughts and that other people are the consequence of their thoughts. With this knowledge, we can see clearly how circumstances are the result of cause and consequence.
As a calm person, we learn how to direct ourselves and to lead others. In turn, others admire our spiritual strength and feel that they can rely and learn from us. Others prefer to deal with someone who has a steadfast manner; consequently, as we improve our self-control and composure, the more we succeed.
When we have a calm mind it does not matter what comes our way, if it rains or shines, we will always remain coolheaded, gentle, caring poised and serene. Our thoughts will be controlled and positive and allow us to tame the storms. Serene in our own knowledge that we have the power to create peace in our own lives.
We no longer react unwisely or ride the roller coaster of ever shifting emotions and volatile tempers destroying every lovely minute. So many people produce unhappiness and wreck their lives by feeding on drama. They are overwhelmed by distrust, anxiety or grief, fear and lack self- control.
Cultivate positive thinking and protect yourself against negativity by watchfully monitoring and taking charge of your thoughts. Take control of your life you are your own master. Self-discipline brings you strength and tranquility is power.
Find a quiet place where you will be uninterrupted for 15 minutes. Take a few minutes to become relaxed and receptive. Playing some, soothing music may help.
Notice your thoughts as they begin to flow through your mind. Be aware that some are unprompted and just appear, whilst others you consciously initiate. Once aware of your thoughts you can begin to change them
