Memo to every single male in America and surrounding countries that may be pondering the thought of getting married: If the motive behind your decision to get married is anything other than deep, sleep-depriving, appetite-stealing, occupation-distracting, heartfelt love...DON'T DO IT! Pregnancy, parents, job relocations, financial prosperity, hot sex, beauty, perceived terminal illness, and being deported to prison or Iraq are not viable reasons for tying the knot. With that being said, a countless number of marriages that are predestined for failure will take place in the coming months for these reasons.

There should be no wonder as to why the divorce rates are skyrocketing in our country today. Men and women treat marriage today as if it were nothing more than renting a pair of bowling shoes. The idea is to strap on a pair of wedding shoes; slam a few balls down the lane in effort to knock over pins; and lastly take a score and return the shoes to sender! Contrary to those who would dare think in this fashion, marriage was and is a sacred act. When a man gets married, what he is in fact vowing is that if the woman of his dreams should happen to lose one of her fake green contact lenses, that he will still love and cherish her until death. If the cheap impersonation of a boob job should result in heavy leakage, the man is vowing to love her nonetheless. If when the bride to be should lose the ability to afford the six pounds of makeup that has become her daily norm, the man is vowing to love his own personal version of Frankenstein.

Your parents are going to die. Unfortunately for you, luck will be on your side, and you will make it back from Iraq in clean fashion. Marrying a woman for her money, is just as moving into a home with adopted step-parents at 30 years old. This often results in things such as curfews, allowances, being grounded, dependency for survival, and loss of manhood. Worse yet, the women in such marriages often cheat, due to their complete lack of respect for men who marry for money.

Love is the only foundation for a healthy, long-lasting marriage. If the foundation is anything other than love, the entire union will come crashing down. This fall often takes place within the first year or so of a marriage, but it can actually take several years in some instances for the truth to surface. When one or both parties within a marriage does actually come to realize that love is missing from the relationship, there are only three solutions for such a couple. 1. Honesty- Confess the real reasons behind getting married 2. Forgiveness- The party on the receiving end of the confession must be willing to quickly forgive upon hearing this news 3. Start over with respect, communication, honesty, and quality time. Love can and will be established in the relationship, if both parties agree to follow this process. Good luck.
