A hospital stay is a daunting time
With all the worries and frustrations it does bring
Not quite knowing what the results will be
Waiting around for a doctor to see
Getting bored with nothing to do
Being asked every day if you've had a poo
But with all the downs
There is one very big UP
The wonderful nurses who care
Ring that bell and they are always there
They appear in shades of blue and Grey
To do what is required and what you say
They have hearts of gold
And manners to match, they lighten the day
They tend your need, take your obs
Make the bed, comfort you if you sob
Bring you tea and something to eat
Keep their calm, now that's a feat
They truly are the angels of the ward
And purely for that they deserve a huge reward
My stay was pleasant, they cheered my soul
Made me comfy and made me wash in a bowl
But just for them
From the bottom of my heart
A very big THANK YOU
You are all stars.

What makes someone a hero?
Is it their deeds?
Their thoughts?
Their words?
Is a type of superhero?
That saves everyone that is
