Vanessa Hudgens is a young lady with a bright future in Hollywood. She is one of the stars of the very popular High School Musical productions that Disney produced. Many in the media say that because she has fans who happen to be under the age of 18 she should be extra careful to present herself in the 'proper' way befitting a role model. I say let us first examine our own selves, as people who are not in the public eye anything like the stars of Hollywood.
We are role models more than stars are every day of our lives. Our children will not likely be one of the few who makes it in a singing or media career to the level of people like Vanessa Hudgens. They will be doing what we have done or some other job that involves working to solve problems and not to entertain people. Today's role models are said to be stars, political figures, or some other person who is well known. I say that those who are around you are the ones whose 'roles' you will likely model your own on. You know the saying, you'll end up like your parents. It is true in many ways but only because they have given you your context in life. People make mistakes all the time. They bought the gossip magazines and watched the almost constant news coverage. Advertisers paid big money so that they could reach a large crowd and the media companies, knowing scandal and tragedy brings American viewers running, did their best to give us what we wanted.
2. Pressures that people in the limelight face are stranger than fiction many times. Not being able to go outside in a robe without being called a slob or eat food at a fast food restaurant because of all the cameras going off in their faces. I hear people say that that is the price of being famous. Well, it wasn't always that way. Now we stake a claim to people who are famous, as if we own a part of them because we watch or listen to them. Their right
