By the time a young girl reaches thirteen, her tastes and interests may be very definite. While one teen may adore cosmetics, another may prefer a good book. Despite this challenge however, there are good options for almost any teenage girl. For a very personal gift, think first of things she collects, or favorite animals she's mentioned. From there, consider pajamas or sheets, cosmetic bags or slippers with an appropriate design theme. (My daughter loves monkeys and has monkey sheets, monkey pens and pencils, monkey pajamas, monkey shirts-even monkey earrings!)
Gift certificates are also tremendously valued by teenage girls-particularly those closer to age 16. Clothing stores, movie theatres, book shops, music and video stores are all great options. Other possibilities include day passes to ski, skate, bowl, etc. The gift card option is particularly good for a girl you know less well because it allows her to indulge her own particular tastes and interests.
