Actually I say neither safe nor lucky, but blessed. If any man thinks that there is an evil that any man, by human might, can overcome then he is a fool. There are warfares on the go that the human eye cannot see and if we have, since 9/11, escaped similar disasters it is only because we are blessed. And being blessed, is it because we deserve it more than another nation? I do not believe so. A blessing is a gift bestowed upon a peoples freely and without merit. All men were created by the same G-d and at the time of creation, created equally. Our constitution(s) state as much here in North America (USA and Canada). Yet our respective countries have laws and behaviours that bely that very fact. But, our Creator does not bely what He has said, for He rains down blessings upon the (according to man's barometer of judgment) good and not so good, equally.

I have to smile at our feeble efforts to attain security from a worldly standpoint. I think of stories we are told in the Bible that I believe to be true. One such example of man's efforts to overcome the "bad guys" is that of David, who, when confronted with the enemy, sent out his men to assay the situation, to count heads and see what they were up against. He did this despite the assurances of YHWH that the land they were about to enter would be given to them by YHWH. David thought he should help out YHWH to accomplish YHWH's Word (or Will). O ye of little Faith!

The efforts at attaining national security are much like the feeble efforts to control violence and crime in our nations. We make more laws, get more people involved in implementing and enforcing these laws, and yet crime seems to escalate.

So, what is the answer?

We've proven in the crime area that man's feeble attempts just don't work. We are spinning our wheels and crime is out of control. My own personal opinion in this arena is that it starts with the heart of the individual, and like a pebble dropped in the middle of an ocean, that change ripples out and touches the lives of everyone, "infected them" if you will with that change, that goodness.

A bunch of pooh pooh you say! "What can one man do?" you ask. Well look at what the life of Yahshua has done. We call ourselves a Christian nation. If we are, then let us look to him after whom we call ourselves. Though the son of YHWH, though endowed with all the powers of heaven, did he ever try in his own might to enforce or accomplish things? When things got tough
