As she walked back down the long hallway to the elevator she pondered what Amelia had said about Mr. Rio. He's my age, thought Jessica. So that must mean that he was either a very skilled business man or he was born into money. She stopped at the elevator and pressed the down button. He likes women that are not clingy and are not expecting a relationship to go anywhere which means that he's basically looking for a permanent girlfriend or, in other words, a Mistress. She glanced up to see what floor the elevator was on. Out of the corner of her eye she saw something move. She had been so lost in her thoughts that she didn't notice there was someone else in the room.
She turned her head and saw the mysterious gentleman that she had been sparring with all morning. He was sitting in one of the luxurious chairs and was staring at her over the top of his newspaper. When he saw her looking at him he got up and walked towards her.
"So, did you get the job?" he asked; his silky smooth tones caressing her ears.
"Yes," she replied and then turned back to the elevator. "Are you stalking me?"
"Stalking you? Never," he said sarcastically. "I don't have to stalk you."
Jessica turned back and stared at him, outraged. "What do you mean You don't have to stalk Me?"
"You'll see sooner or later. Don't forget that you owe me a lunch." He smiled at her and turned to walk away.
"I owe you nothing," she said maliciously. "What have you done for me that would make you think you deserve to be in my company any longer?"
"Because," he said quietly and seductively. "You know, as much as I do, that you want nothing more than to be in my company." He walked towards her slowly. "You can't help but to feel heated when I'm near. Your face heats up and your heart starts beating faster your breathing starts to become heavy and your body starts to liquefy." With each word he had taken a step closer to her. He stopped right in front of her and she felt her body reacting exactly the way he was saying it would. Without thinking she reached up and smacked him across the face; the sound reverberating around the empty room.
"You have no right to talk to me like this and if you will excuse me the elevator is here." She turned her back on him, entered the elevator, punched the ground floor button and smirked at him as the doors closed.
Exhausted, she leaned back against the wall of the elevator. What the hell is going on with me, she asked herself. I've never had this type of problem with a guy before. I've never even come close to smacking let alone sparring with a man. She closed her eyes and massaged her temples trying to ease the headache that she could feel building.
The elevator dinged and the doors opened slowly. As she stepped out into the foyer she looked up and saw him leaning against a pillar.
Oh god, she thought to herself. She pretended that she didn't see him and started walking towards the door. She could feel his eyes on her, but she kept her back straight and her head up.
As she reached the doors, she stopped and searched thru her bag for her sunglasses. When she stood up, she could feel him standing very close to her, but she again pretended to not notice him there. She slipped her sunglasses on and walked out into the busy street, disappearing into the crowd.
