O.K lets break this down,
Bone quality: the degree of excellence which the bone possesses
Bone density: what is the thickness of your bones.
Actually they both go hand in hand. I started the bone density program in mid western Wisconsin in 1997. I put in many hours of study to find out what bone density was, the whys, hows, wheres, and ways to fix the problem.
Bone excellence starts when we are very young. It all boils down to how much calcium do your bones have. Every day we need to get calcium in to our body's. Calcium is like a bank it builds up in your system until the age of 30. If we do not keep adding at least 1200 Mg's. every day, the bones are robbed of their calcium, therefore depleting the bank.
1 of 2 women will have Osteoporosis in their life. A lot of factors contribute to the problem also, such as medications, smoking, drinking, being under 127lbs., Caucasian, and female. Don't get me wrong this is also a mans disease.
There are medications to help strengthen the bone you have left but once the bone is gone it is gone forever and can not be replaced.
I suggest that you take a supplement daily,(another can of worms). Be very cautious, read the fine print and do your homework.
