Let me start by saying this is definitely a very hard task for parents and I think for everyone in general, it is just so easy to get carried away with all the junk food out there, and lets admit it.it is easier to make or buy and it just tastes good
My number one Tip Start when they are young!

Her eating habitsto tell you the truth, if I only could eat like her So why are her eating habits so amazing? Well she loves cucumber, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, and the best part with vinegar and oil and a little salt! Not amazed yet? Well she does not eat cakes, or Twinkies or Oreos.she just doesn't like them! Oh and soft drinksNope just water and sometimes tea!
The truth is that there is no big hidden secret, the only thing you have to do is try to give them the healthy food when they are little and if you don't want them drinking sodasjust don't let them taste it, I mean I have seen moms giving soda to their kids in bottleswe really have to realize that its no ones fault but ours what our kids eatits hard but trust me you can do it!
If it means having to fight with your mother in law so she won't give your child soda or sweetswell in the end it's for a good cause and one day she will understand!
Another advise I can give you is to try and eat the fruits and veggies yourself, it gives them a good exampletry to choose those you like best at the beginning just to avoid showing an icky face when you eat them! If they see you hate them why on earth will they even try it!
There are many books and recipes out there that teach you how to make it fun
And don't get me wrong, we are not health freaks! Our daughter now decides when she wants to eat an ice cream or maybe even a piece of cake, but she still prefers carrots! The important thing is that she knows the difference between the good food and the not so good and she is able to balance it in a healthy way!
