Is it better to give or to receive?
I have heard people say it is better to give. Many of my experiences in life have led me to cultivate my own independent understanding. Many times, I have not had the financial means to give.
The season of Christmas is approaching and as always, there is a lot of focus around the spirit of giving. I believe give and receiving are the same. As a writer, I understand there are many words that lead to one meaning.
When we are open to receive from others, we give them acceptance. Imagine for a moment the world filled with people who could only give. Out of all these people, there would be no one for them to give. Imagine a world filled with people who could only receive and no one was giving. What would they receive?
Giving and receiving are equal elements needed in order to balance the flow of love. They both are pathways to the same meaning. It would sound absurd to say, "It is better to jump than to jump".
I love to explore the trails of the heart and give unseen gifts from the heart. This Christmas I will not focus on how much I give, or how much I receive. I will love each because I know they are both equal actions of love.
