Celebrating Andalucian festivals

Every year i head down to Jerez de la Frontera, for La Ferria de Caballo, which translates as The Horse Fair. The Royal School of Equestrian Art is based in Jerez and the show they put on during the festival is the hightlight for many people.

The show incompasses all the great things about Andalucian horsemanship. Its basically a ballet that is performed by horses and they riders. Everything has to be perfect, each move must be precise.

Also present at La Feria, are a large number of Bullfighting and Flamenco displays and literally hundreds of Bars, Restaurants and Stalls. Each facility is custom built for the Feria, in the central Park in Jerez, and are fully fitted with washrooms and dance floors.

The Andalucian people are welcoming and extremely hospitable. The Feria is highly sponsored by all the local Sherry Houses, as Sherry is one of the main exports for this region of Spain.

Jerez is situated in the Province of Cadiz and can be easilly accessed by flights to Seville, Malaga or Jerez's own airport from London Stanstead.
