How to prevent learning disabilities

at once, if you are pregnant, because it is no less than playing Russian roulette with your unborn baby.

I know moms who rationalize and say that smoking, drinking or doing drugs just a little will not hurt MY child. Heaven knows that I am not smart enough to know just what amount of smoke or alcohol or drugs will cause a problem, and I dare say you do not know either. Please be on the safe said, for the side of your baby, and stop.

Moms, I know I am being hard on you; but dads, you also have the same responsibility. If you drink, smoke or take drugs, you are creating a weakened sperm that may very well be deformed and abnormal in some way that can interfere with the
development of your sweet child.

I read of a teenage girl who recently did an experiment where she gave a plant water that was put in the microwave for a few minutes, and she also watered a plant using only tap water. The plant fed the microwaved water eventually died.

Now, I am not saying that microwaved food and drink are going to harm you are your child; but you should become informed about what you can do to keep your body healthy, and your baby healthy. Read, read, read and talk to your doctor about how to keep you and your baby safe and healthy.

There are mothers-to-be who never go to the doctor until they have the baby, and there are mothers who will not take prenatal vitamins.

Did you know that it has not been very long ago since it was discovered that the lack of folic acid is responsible for improper growth of the brain?

Some children are born without brains, and 400 mcg of folic acid daily can prevent this from happening.

Now, do not go overboard on vitamins because excessive amounts of vitamins A and D can be harmful to your fetus.

So, to drink, smoke, take illegal drugs and not take a prenatal vitamin while pregnant can get your new baby off to a very poor start and on the road to a life of misery in school and in adulthood.

*Postnatal (after birth) Influences

It also has been discovered that children with repeated ear infections tend to have slow speech and frequently develop learning disabilities. Ear infections cannot always be prevented, but it is known that putting your baby down for a nap sucking on a bottle can cause fluid to back up in the ear canal.

This can lead to the formation of bacteria, that can lead to an ear infection, that can lead to hearing problems, that can lead to deafness or partial deafness, that can lead to slow speech and language development, that can lead to learning
