Should you even be asking this question? If We continue to let our most valuable resources ( our children ) go to school without first doing a complete check of the adult instructors, including how well they are trained to handle the needs of todays children, Then are we not putting the cart before the horse? Stick the computer in the classroom. Now if the Students know more about it than the teacher, what then will they be looking at? We've known for some time, the computer with Internet, can either be a positive or a negative resource. We are watching unfortunately, a number of incidents where the misuse of power/authority in conjunction with the Internet has produced situations that are criminal in nature and difficult to explain. We have an obligation to learn from these abuses, and continue to seek advancements in education. With this in mind, it is imperative that we address the training needs of the teachers. They have an enormous task and we cannot assume that everything will just fall into place so that we can forget about it. Addressing the needs in training is equipping us all for the challenges that the next generation will propose, and exemplifies that we believe in learning from our shortcomings.
