ABC's of diabetes

teeth; taking care of one's feet can help prevent limb amputations in the future. It is pertinent that individuals also participate in regular health screenings and yearly eye exams; this can prevent or limit the furtherance of the severity of complications. Treatments can vary from one individual to the next. Most diabetic treatments include either physician prescribed medication and/or insulin injections, depending on the severity of the diabetes. The importance of monitoring and logging the individual's BS (blood sugar) cannot be stressed enough. It is recommended to carry a copy of the log to each doctor's visit and to effectively communicate any and all changes in the individual's blood sugar levels.

All in all, each individual case of diabetes must be treated with care. Individuals, who may be more susceptible to developing diabetes, should take precautions early on to prevent or delay the disease in its entirety. This is possible by knowing the individual's risk factors and the signs and symptoms of diabetes. While millions of Americans suffer from chronic diabetes, one's exercise regimen and one's nutritional intake can aid in controlling the disease, preventing and/or delaying further diabetes-related complications, and can help to prevent the furtherance of the severity of the disease
