I fly with American Airlines on a semi-regular basis, and in all honesty, I don't have a lot of bad feedback for them. They have flights to most of the destinations that I travel too, with decent times. They have a points program to reward their frequent fliers, the planes are clean and the staff overall are very pleasant.

I had a wonderful experience with American in May that you don't hear about very often from any airline. I was traveling to New York from Toronto for a one day trip. I had a 4 hour delay in Toronto because of a bad thunderstorm, so I arrived quite late. The next day leaving New York, the same storm got to New York, where I had another 4 hour delay, but this time I was already on the plane, so couldn't go for coffee or anything. Two days after this trip I received an unsolicited email from American Airlines, apologizing for the delays, and as a token of their concern, they gave me 6,000 flier miles.

The airline companies have gotten a very bad reputation over the years for gouging the customer, bad service and continual delays, but this is one of those few times where an airline truly seemed concerned about me and my time, and I truly appreciated it.
