Should child offenders be put to death?

The death penalty is a touchy subject to begin with but when you try to decide whether to pass the death penalty on a child it gets even harder. When deciding the death penalty one should look at the crime and the age of the child involved. If the crime is severe enough then the death penalty may be something to look at. Take the case in England that happened years ago for an example. Two ten year old boys lured a two year old from his mother in a store. They took the child on a long walk and along the way they tortured him in some very grusome ways. They then killed this sweet two year old little boy. The two ten year olds knew that what they did was wrong because they tried to cover up their crime by placing the child's body on the rail road tracks where it was run over by a train in an attempt to make his death look like an accident. Also these boys were cold harded enough to ignore the cries of this small two year old toddler. They have since served their sentence and were give new names and new lives free of the stigma of their gruesome crime.

Now these two boys were only ten years old. Should the death penalty have been applied to them? Yes it should have because of the nature of their crime they showed that they had no regard for human life and brutally took the life of a small toddler. Imagine what destruction these two boys can do now that they are adults and much older and bigger? For gruesome crimes such as this the death penalty should be applied even if the offender is in a sense a child themselves.
