Natural remedies for asthma

Having a child in your care with asthma is a huge responsibility, whenever they are overly active, or they have colds you bet this will cause an attack. There are many triggers that bring on an asthma episode such as grass weeds, trees, dust mites, rodents, cigarette smoke and the common cold among a few. See a lot of times you have to rush the child to the emergency room to make sure they are treated immediately, so that he can feel better.

While babysitting a small child of sixteen months who was born with one kidney, a G6 allergy, and asthma, I found myself concerned about his asthma, and how I would take care of him during an attack. Trying hard to play the event out in my mind, it was nothing like the real problem. He came to me one day with just a cold, later he became really congested. He was trying hard to breathe the sound made me think his lung was going to collapse. He cried a little because he was really frightened. I called his mother and told her that I thought that he was having an asthma attack. She was on her way. The baby was still under stress. What could I do to make him comfortable while we waited?

First, he would not let me put him down, and I walked him around and then I sat on a rocking chair keeping his little person up on my shoulders. Then I massage the middle of his back gently, reassuring him that everything would be alright. He really had tension and I wanted to relieve that the best I could.

I remember the earlier response he had to a symphony opus CD that I played for him, so when I put it on he raised his head and look at the speakers and once again put his little head on my shoulder, and I continued to massage his back. The sound in his lungs dissipated, and he started to breathe normally. When his mother arrived she took him to his physician and they had to treat him several times The baby also suffers from separation anxiety, so I put on symphony music whenever he comes over, and reassures him that his mother will be back to get her little boy. He returned to me like nothing happen, but he always stays close. It's like he knows that if it ever happens again, I was his safe place.

I learned from a gentleman that stress is a major cause of asthma attacks. He explains that he was a child who suffered from asthma, that he often felt frustrated as a little boy; because he loved school and at least half of the year he suffered with asthma. He said that when he reflects on it he recognizes the reasons he had so many problems. He was given so much responsibility at home with six sisters and brothers; it left him constantly under stress. When he became a teenager he found that he wanted to be more active with his friends. He play stick ball which taught him to have more control over his thoughts, which calm his stress, and this help silence the number of asthma related problems. Every time he would have an onset he would meditate, giving his mind a mental picture of how he wanted to feel, and that he did not own this problem and it would gently go away.

In each instance both the adult and child were under stress, the technique of using music and meditation to calm the attack help in so many ways. So I feel more comfortable with taking care of him. The CD works so well.
