Guide to video game rentals

The price of a video game these days, makes you second guess if you should really get what is being called the most anticipated game of the year. As a gamer I can tell you there have been several times I wished I would have borrowed it from a friend or rented it. Renting is now almost automatic for me. It all came about when I was sure Madden football would not let me down. I was wrong. It was the worst feeling knowing I paid 59.00 for a game that was pure crap in my mind, and in many others. I told myself that this was never going to happen again.

I started renting games from Blockbuster. I found that this was ok but had its down falls. If I didn't get there in time for the newest titles, they were always rented out and unavailable for a very long time. So I turned to Gamefly. You have to wait for the game to come to you in the mail, but they usually have the game and I don't have to drive to go get the game or to return it. I also liked the monthly fee instead of paying for each game, because you eliminate the late fee factor. I also found myself not buying as many adventure games anymore because I was able to beat the game within the monthly time frame. I don't know about you, but after I have beaten a game I don't find myself wanting to play it again. Once I have completed the goal, there is usually not enough to entice me to play it again.
I would like to highly recommend renting to mothers who have no clue if a game is manageable for younger kids. There are a lot of games out there that is hard to control by kids under the age of 10. Your child will tell you that's the game they won't, but they are just as clueless as you to the knowledge of knowing if they can actually play it or not. So if they can't handle the game, if you rent it, all you do is send it back without losing a lot of money.
So where should you go to rent? Blockbuster is not a bad selection but get ready for that selection to not always have what you're wanting. Game fly at gamefly.com, has a monthly fee of 22.95. At gameznflix.com they start you out at 8.99 a month and not only offer games but movies also. Both are easy to join and are easy to navigate. In the long run, no matter which one you choose, I think you'll be glad you gave renting a try. I know I am. It has saved me money and opened my eyes to a better way of gaming. I still buy a game now and then, but I know for sure that I won't be wasting my hard earned money when I do. I'm quite sure you will have the same result. Good luck and good gaming.
