Belt-less trousers are like drink.
In moderation, the user is a little flirty, a little teasing, there is a certain I-don't-give-a- confidant edge; its kinda cool. :)
In excess, the user looks comical or ridiculous and occasionally grotesque, and the risk of indecent exposure increases dramatically.
Beltless is fine, as long as the trousers FIT. If your trousers sit on your hips, and there's a cheeky bit of boxer/lace showing, no-one's going to complain. ;)
Even thongs can be worn, as long as you just see the pretty top V or the occasional flash of side string.
The added bonus is there's no belt to undo when heading for the toilets, so you gain an extra 8 secs min (crucial dignity-saving seconds when overindulged on drink)
What's not so palatable is if the trousers are way too baggy, the edge desperately clinging to mid-buttock so that half an arse is hanging out, with the crotch between your knees rendering a penguin walk necessary. Boxers are obviously more decent here than the "whale-tail" thong but frankly neither are advisable, unless one is blessed with a Fantastically Toned and Smooth Bottom.
(Or possibly aiming to subliminally message everyone by having an advert tattooed on their buttcheek.)
Needless to say, if you're going to show your underwear, it's an idea to make sure it's nice (or at least clean).
