Poetry: When angels cry

"The lie cast a shine"

Shining was the lie
that made the apple glisten,
shining was the lie
that caused mankind to listen,
shining was the lie
that spurned man from God,
shining was the lie
left the war horse unshod.

To the shimmering sight-
the reality of a mirage,
to the glimmering light-
answers heard within the message,
to the quivering light-
the light that's not from God,
to the unholy sight-
the one to fool wise and clod.

Cast from the garden soil
made by the Creator's hand,
cast from the garden soil
so full of life, so grand,
cast from the garden soil
for another comes to claim it,
cast from the garden soil
for a serpent's throne to sit.

For the delight of the eye
they shall come, want and know,
for the delight of the eye
they shall live to show,
for the delight of the eye
the spell of naked desire,
for the delight of the eye
the enemy's goal is fire.

Listen for the trumpet-
time for all men to kneel,
listen for the trumpet-
the enemy under heel,
listen for the trumpet-
before it comes be true,
listen for the trumpet-
don't give in lest you be through.

    When angels cry,
    a soul is lost.
    The message they brought
