Learning To Cook Can Help You Live Longer.
I have heard many women and men say that they cannot boil water less alone cook a meal. There is a great importance when it comes to cooking food. For starters, you can control the sodium, fat, and sugar contents in your food. The biggest factor of all is controlling the amount of chemicals you digest. Whenever we visit the grocers and purchase something from the frozen food section, you can guarantee there will be many chemicals and preservatives in the product.
Many of the chemicals have cancer-causing agents in them. Chemicals like Sodium Phosphate or Sodium Chloride are extremely hazardous to our health. Not only are they known to cause cancer but also elevate blood pressure. In addition, most fast foods, munchies foods, sandwich meats, and microwave lean dishes are permeated with these added deadly goodies. Partially Hydrogenated and Fully Hydrogenated oil are deadly oils that can clog arteries and elevate triglycerides. Not the healthiest choice is it. Therefore, it makes learning to cook even more important.
Learning to cook is the best way to eat healthy and to live a healthier lifestyle. It does not have to be expensive. You can find free recipes on the internet and in your grocery store. Two great recipe sites are www.cookinglight.com and www.allrecipes.com. In addition, you can check out cookbooks at your local library, find recipes in your local newspapers, and on back of food packages. Cheap and very healthy foods you can buy are beans, rice, frozen vegetables, pasta, oats, and cereal to name a few. Purchasing fresh garlic cloves, onions, and peppers are very inexpensive ways to spice up your dishes. In addition, dried spices can be purchase as low as $1.00 a bottle. If you are like most people and there is not a lot of money to spend, check out wholesale meat packinghouses. You can get a lot of quality meat for less money.
Another great reason you should learn to cook is that it will save money. Buying lunch each day can be a very expensive bill in itself. The average lunch cost about $7.00 per day in most fast food restaurants. That is an average of $140.00 a month just on lunch alone. Not only will you save money but you will save on your health as well. So, go ahead and explore, use your kitchen to make the most wonderfully delicious meals.
Bon Appetite!
