Poetry: Rape

Pictures

I see myself making love for the
first time
I see myself kissing the love of
my life for the first time
I see myself saying no in high school
and him pushing in anyway
I see myself and my friends having a
hollering contest in the backyard
I see myself skiing down the mountain
and not being able to stop
I see myself touching the tip of
my finger to a dead jellyfish

But I am a dangerous woman
whose memory is sketchy
But in an hour or two I may not
remember how it felt to touch the fish
But I may not remember how it felt
to have loved and lost
But you aren't even listening to me
you are only seeing my naked flesh
