An Adventure filled Day
Wake up now, you sleepyhead!
Rise and shine, get out of bed
Eggs and sausage start your day;
As Mommy cooks a breakfast buffet!
Orange juice, muffins and pancakes too.
Going hungry just won't do!
First you'll pick what clothes to wear.
Then you'll dress and comb your hair.
Grab your books and bear for play.
While Mommy starts her chores today.
Put your teddy in your tote,
It's time to wear your shoes and coat.
Grab that tote, head for the door
Let's run errands, shop and more.
Buckled up, all safe and sound,
Now we're ready to drive around.
Our first job is to post the mail,
But then our tire finds a nail!
We have to make a short pit-stop
At the local tire shop.
We get a patch put on our tire.
Then on to lunch and drive by a fire!
Lights are flashing and sirens roar,
As heroes run through the door.
Firefighters here; so strong and bold;
Holding a child, maybe one year old.
Continuing past the busy street,
We find the restaurant where we'll eat.
Soup and salad give us our fill.
Then Mommy pays the restaurant bill.
Now we will drive to the store,
Where we'll buy groceries and goodies galore.
Rows of color stacked so high!
Boxes and cans and bags to buy.
Up to the front, the cashier we pay.
And that's the end of errands today!
The car is loaded; we're safe and sound.
And now we are headed homeward bound!
Once the groceries are put away,
You and Mommy get to play!
Crayons and paper and scissors and glue,
A treasure is created for you know who.'
Daddy's due home, so you patiently wait;
And then you see him come through the gate!
You stand by the door to show your art,
As soon as he enters, you melt his heart!
Mom gets busy with a dinner to cook,
While you and Dad read a short book.
Once your supper is ready to eat,
You sit at the table - in your seat!
The mountain of pasta covered in red,
Is perfect for dipping your garlic bread.
After helping mom by clearing the glasses,
A treat is served, covered in molasses.
It's time to start your nightly routine,
Beginning first by getting all clean.
We'll run water in the bath tub,
Bubbles galore make for a fun scrub!
With body and hair and teeth all clean,
You'll put on pajamas that are green.
Mom and Dad come tuck you in bed,
And give you a kiss on your forehead.
Take all the time you need to rest.
Tomorrow's day will be the best!
