"River's Reflection"
On bended knee
a mirrored beauty
splashes backward
with each melodious
ripple of spring
So far from home,
yet only a step away
in misty illusions
as eyes take comfort
bathed in pure abandon
Unmeasured currents
beneath sun and moon
on the bank
of a river that never-
runs dry

Of Mighty Rivers Flowing
Rivers glowing brownly like O-hi-o,
muddy, defiant, dash in constant flow;
Missouri shouts,

I sit by the river lost in a dream
of afternoon tea scones jam and cream
The song of the thrush fills the air
and
Water remembers
most people would doubt this
after all it's a substance
that follows the path
of least resistance
it moves
